Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I bid on the Poorhouse Records from Ebay and WON! Instead of keeping the book, I would like to return the book to Oswego and was wondering where this book should go to??? Let me know what you think. Diane
Well, for starters ... LOL ... I think you should notify [email protected] that you are doing that. He also was bidding hoping to do the same thing! I need to do a little research; then I'll let you know what I learned about the best place to donate it. Where do you live? Thanks so much for caring and acting! How about the book going to the County Historian? I'm glad you won Diane. I was bidding on it too and was also intending to donate it to the same place. Dorothy (quebbeman)
This will generate some comments for some time. I would give it (or make a copy of it and give the copy to) the 'poorhouse lady' who has freely made many records from many states available to all on the internet. If you were to give it to her with the stipulation that she in turn donate it to an Oswego historical society, I'm betting she would accept that and that could also benefit many people. I looked for it briefly on ebay but either didn't search correctly or it was bought and de-listed when I looked. How many pages is it? Roughly how many names in it? What did it finally sell for?
