I am trying to locate information on my ALLEN family in Oswego County. Records I've searched so far indicate that the family came from Co. Limerick, Ireland circa 1854 and settled in Williamstown, NY. Thomas ALLEN (b. betw. 1807-1810; d. betw. 1865-1870) and Bridget/Delia TOOMEY (1826-1895) had 6 children (that I know of), all girls (Mary, Anna, Delia, Catharine, Jane/Jennie, and Etta). I'm searching specifically for the date of death and burial location for Thomas. While the State and Federal Census list the family in Williamstown (from 1855-1870), Sand Bank is listed as the Post Office on the Federal Censuses in 1860 and 1870. Would this mean that the family lived closer to Sand Bank (now Altmar) than to the village of Williamstown? Should I be looking in Altmar cemeteries for a burial? Any help or suggestions this group has would be greatly appreciated.
