It is very user friendly. I did notice a couple of things though. I know you're still "tweaking" things, so if you already found the following as I did, I apologize. If nobody else has the same problems I had, let me know. It could be my computer or my web browser. Either way, could you let me know? Thanks. Genealogy Software Websites: www.genpro.com said the domain name was for sale. Archive Website: www.genofun.on.ca/ongenweb could not be found Genealogy Websites: www.genealogy.com wouldn't open up, but that could have been my machine. :-) O'Brien Genealogy Websites: www.obrienclan.com said the connection was refused when attempting to contact. O'Brien Genealogy Websites: www.obrienclanswomen.com could not be found. The Famine Immigrants Vol I and Vol II was not found. I also noticed that the visitor counter isn't working. How did you have time to work on this and build a new house and have a family and.......well, you've just been busy, busy, busy!!! Your webpage looks great!! ttys, Tina ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anthony OBrien" <admin@obrienfamilyhistory.net> To: <NYOSWEGO@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, September 17, 2006 5:57 PM Subject: [NYOSWEGO] New Family History Website > Hi All, > > Just wanted to invite you to visit my website at > www.obrienfamilyhistory.net. > > My 3rd GGF immigrated to Oswego in 1849 from Limerick, Ireland and lived > in Oswego City until his death in 1909. 1. [NYOSWEGO] Amos and Hope King marke trees at Hastings 1785 - 1800
    2. Amos King is my 4th great grandfather on my paternal grandmother's branch of the familiy. He is (then) a recently discharged veteran of the Revolution. All that I know came from a letter written by his grandson to a first cousin telling of his plans to canoe across Lake Erie with the destination in mind of Michiagan. He departed New Salem, Hampshire County (now Franklin County) Massachusetts with two infant sons. The letter says that he marked trees at Hastings when it was clear that his wife Hope would not be pleased with a canoe ride over the lake even if there was free land for the taking as was his right as a veteran. The census of 1800 indicates that they had departed Hastings and were ultimately at Canaan, in Columbia County, New York. Land records begin early there however we pick up the trail of land claim filings in 1804 and contiue to his death in 1839. What I believe I might be asking is the time frame for examining land claims in Oswego County pertaining to this time frame. If he filed for land as was his right and did he sell the land would be helpful. Another thing that might help is if he is listed in Oswego county for any of the New York or US Census enumerations. Thanks for you time. Daniel
