    3. The Record Center is open 9-1 weekdays and closed on holidays and weekends.. Justin White is pretty good at helping people out there. Don't go during Harborfest though. Hotel rates are jacked up if you're staying there... As for the Catholic cemetery (St. Peter's & St. Paul's), the story is that the records were "lost in a fire" (don't know exactly when). Before I knew this, I had written to them about some relatives I assumed were burried there and received a nice, polite, "sorry, they aren't here" reply. 1. Horation, Ebenezer/Everett and Charles Stanley - civil war
    2. Russell Sprague
    3. Changing the subject line to match the query. Try fultonhistory.com. Read the section about searches. Try 'horatio w/5 stanley' as search term then choose 'boolean' for search type. Then different variations. In boolean search this says, return any hits with the word 'horatio' within 5 words of 'stanley'. Good luck - Russ Sprague Kensington, Maryland Hi Roesmary, I have a Civil War question. Our relations the Horatio Stanley family, had 3 boys Ebenezer E. (Everett we think) Horatio (Horatus) W. Jr, and Charles H. in the CW. They lived in Amboy on Panther Lk. I've traced Charles record but can't find Eben and Horatio Jr."s. The 2 boys are listed in Oswego county history as enlisting in 2nd Lt. Artl. Eban and Charles survived the war but nothing on Horation Jr. after 1860. Do you know where I can go to find records? I can't afford to go to Govt. records. Also can't find parents death aft 1880 or anything on them before 1850. They were Horatio W. Stanley and Elisibeth H. Warner (I think) b. 1815 and 1824. If you can help I'ed be thankful. 3. Hi, Bev & Marilyn, I'm the one who asked about the Worden Cemetery. Thanks so much for this information. Not only am I pleased to know for sure where it is, but I did not know that it was being maintained and its CW veteran honored in that way. How wonderful. Schuyler Worden (1806-1901) was my 3G GF. He was the first settler of Minetto in 1819 and was a well-known fruit-grower and horticulturist. He was the developer of the Worden grape, Worden pear, Worden potato, and many other varieties. The Worden Cemetery is on land that was once part of his farm. The Civil War solder buried there is his son-in-law, Capt. Walter R. Perry (1841-1917), of Company A., 10th Regt., New York Vol. Calvalry. He married Amanda Worden, the only surviving child of Schuyler. Capt. Perry was my 2G GF. For additional information, see http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/w/r/i/Judith-S-Wright/GENE3-0001.html, generations 4 and 5. Marilyn, I can provide additional information off-list, including a map of the cemetery location and photos, if you need them. Judy in Ocala. 3. I'm sure we've discussed this before, but I'm going to ask again. I'm at the point in one branch of my family research where I would like to find my ancestors Naturalization Records--especially the Application for Naturalization. They settled in Oswego Co in 1856 as best I can tell, so my understanding is that they had to wait 5 years to apply--that would put them at 1861. Would I check county records or state records? Is any of this online? Thanks for any guidance anyone can give. Marjorie Kaine Lampley

    2. Someone wanted to know if the Worden Cemetery had been moved. I checked with my son-in-law and he says no. It is Still in the same place, off of Benson Ave. in Minetto. You have to go into a person's driveway, but there is a right of way. The Minetto town cleans it up every Memorial, because of a Civil war soldier buried there. The American Legion flags the grave. The Minetto cemetery was moved in 1907 (not sure of the date), when the Lock was put in the Oswego River at minetto, and the old cemetery would have been flooded. Minetto town also tends to that Cemetery. Photobev@aol.com

They came from Irish Free State. I do know that Johanna had at least one brother John. Johanna married a Peter Enwright (Enright) and they had 5 children, Bridget 1865-, Mary Agnes 1869-1917, James H. 1870-1947, Katherine 1871-1964, Sara 1874-. It sounds like your generation that you are talking about would be the generation of my ggrandmother Katherine Enright Murray. The men you are talking about were probably either brothers or cousins to Johanna. I lost a lot of my genealogy when my computer crashed and am working from my written copies to put them all back in. Keep in touch and as I work on the Minahan's I am sure I can help you. I have at least two more generations then you do. I'm decended from George and aside from the 1910 Federal census, I haven't found anything about him. I've found WW1 draft registrations for the others as well as their death notices. George (my great-grandfather) apparently died in the 1918 influenza epidemic, so any information on Oswego during that period would be helpful too. Ross - Two of the Ross brothers came up from Kentucky at the turn of the century and got into the shadier side of boxing. They eventually brought their sister Lillian (my great-grandmother) up to keep house for them and their little brother Joe to do some fighting. I'd love any information about any of the brothers - Wirt (b.1883), Ernest or Joe.
