That is the Schuyler Worden Cemetery. Worden is my 3G Grandfather. He and his two wives and most of his children, plus a few hangers-on are buried there. He was a fruit grower and that development is the site of his farm. He had a clause put in the deed that the cemetery would not be disturbed and that there would always be an access easement. I never found the "easement" but some neighbors let me cut through their property and showed me where the cemetery was. I'm leaving town today so don't have time to go into any further detail. But when I get back next week I can give you the names and dates, plus some photos if you're interested. I should mention, the Schuyler Worden Cemetery is in Minetto off Benton Ave. I don't know if this is Route 4 or not, so perhaps we aren't talking about the same one. I may have gotten ahead of myself. :) But if anyone wants further info, I'll be glad to post it. It is great. Our library here in Oswego has the local Pall Times on microfilm with the copy function so you can make a copy of the article. It does get to you after an hour of looking at the screen. The Syracuse Library has fiche readers in their great genealogy section. If you do use these fiche readers I recommend you bring a sheet of transparent yellow cellophane to put over the reader so as to help you from getting a headache. It really works. Good hunting. You can often do newspaper research yourself and it is quite an experience to read papers 100 years old and beyond. Visit the site of the New York State Newspaper Project. Papers are listed by town and the site lists available date ranges. A section of the site explains interlibrary loans (you initiate the request at your local library). When the film arrives at your local library, they call or send you a postcard and you then typically have access for about 3 weeks, using the local microfilm reader. You may want to make the request from a local college or university. They generally serve the local population even if you are not a student there. At the NY state newspaper project site, be sure to check 'papers at the state library' and 'papers at other locations'. Here is the URL: http://www.nysl.nysed.gov/nysnp/ Sounds like it would be a quick search but you can really get wrapped up in the old articles of the day. I am referring to issues having nothing to do with genealogy, the 'intent' of this list. I have been using lists for years and have the ability to discern when people on the list 'might be interested' in the tread. But I accept your thoughts. I believe too much time has been given to this issue 'on the list', it has nothing to do with researching genealogy, which is the reason I joined. I prefer to keep my comments restricted to the 'original poster' but to keep faith with the administrators request, as I understand it, I post my comments to the list. No matter what I feel in response to this issue in the future, I will not continue to comment on this issue. I am only interested in genealogy issues from this list.
