    2. Obituary from THE DAILY NEWS, Thursday, January 15, 2009 A-13 "Leslie E. tHOMAS Medina- Leslie E. Thomas, 89, of Medina died Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 12, 2009) at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home. He was born in the town of Carlton, Oct. 31, 1919, a son of the late Ray E. and Fern (Jackson) THOMAS. He served in the U.S. Navy, as a radio operator in World War II in hte Mediterranean and Pacific Theaters. Mr. Thomas enjoyed fishing and gardening in retirement. In later years, he loved to cook and was very good at it. He shared his pepperoni stew and seafood salad dishes with his family and friends and neighbors at Ricky Place. Survivors include three children, Ronald D. (Betty Jean) Thomas, Sue A. Voelker and Roxanne (John) Potrubacz; seven grandchidren and 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Terry A. Thomas, in 2003. A private service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to PAWS. Arrangements were completed by the Cooper Funeral Home, Medina.
