Walter M Lewis married AnnaHile and their son Abijah M Lewis died 2 Dec 1949and in his obit it states `born in Elkhart,Ind 20 Jan 1870 son of Walter and Anna Hile Lewis......Sisters M4rs Angie McKie ,Mrs Harriet Martin, and Mrs Bil Amos of Lyndonville. and Mrs Delphia Watson of Milville and one brother Sylvester Lewis of Lyndonville. Anna Hile Lewis sister was Mrs Nell (Wm) Menke(Mahnke) was listed in her obit. Hope this is of some help. They also had a son Delphus and he died aabout 1970 est. Doesnt say twin but their names are so much alike. Hi Geri, I have the following children for Walter Lewis and Anna Hile: Abijah married to Harriet Blisset, Arminda (no further information), Harriet married to John William Martin, Sylvester married to Anna Marie Long; a son Delphos who died as an infant and Delphia, who was married twice; first to a Mahnke and then to Jesse Watson. Delphia is listed in the following census as a widow with the married name of Mahnke: 1910 US Census New York, Orleans County, Town of Yates Supervisor District 18, Enumeration district 167, Sheet 8B Taken on May 2, 1910 by Charles Brown Dwelling 164, Family 168 Lewis, Walter M, head, 64, widow, born New York, parents New York, own income Mahnke, Dlephia, daughter, 23, widow, had 0 children, New York, parents New York/Ohio My William Mahnke was never married to a Nell Hile. He was married to Catherine Blissett (sister of Harriet who is married to Abijah Lewis) and they were still married when he died. This William Mahnke is my great uncle.
