    1. [NYORANGE] Jonah HUFF & Abigail UNKNOWN (Orange Co, NY) and Eugene KNIBBS b. Feb 1849 & Amelia HUFF b. Abt 1843 (Orange Co, NY)
    2. All: I am doing some reserach for a lovely lady who wants to join the DAR. We are stopped at the moment at the following information: Jonah HUFF b. abt 1803 NY, with a wife Abigail b. Abt 1813 NY. In the 1850 Census, they are in Monroe, Orange Co, NY, and vanish by the 1860 Census. In the 1850 Census, they have Delia b. Abt 1839, Amelia "Milly" b. Abt 1843, and Matilda b. Abt 1848. In 1860: Jonah and Abigail have vanished, as have Delia and Matilda HUFF. Amelia Huff is a Domestic Servant (age 17) in the family of James HALL of Monroe, Orange Co, NY. By 1880: Eugene KNIBBS (son of George KNIBBS and Hannah GARRETT) and Amelia are married, and have 3 children with them: Mary D. b. Abt 1875, Floyd C. b. Abt 1878, and Annia A. b. Abt. Jan 1880. In MAr 1882, they had Harriett "HAttie" R. KNIBBS (who later married a Harry JOHNSTON). I need the following info: A. What is the maiden name of Abigail who married Jonah Huff? B. When and where were they married? C. Did they both die, between 1850 and 1860 and what happened to Matilda in the 1860 census? She later evidently married a DOUGLAS, because in 1880 she's living with her sister, but as Matilda DOUGLAS. D. When and where were Eugene KNIBBS and Amelia HUFF married? Also need any sources that you have for this data, if I am to use it for her DAR application. Will share anything that I know v/r, Beverly Alexander Regent, Fauquier Court House Chapter, NSDAR Warrenton, VA I hear ethereal voices, persuasive, soft and still Daughter, if you don't remember us, who will? 3. In 1830 there is a Milicent HUFF in Monroe, Orange Co., NY. Oddly, there are two males between 70 - 80 along with a lot of other persons in the household, ages ranging from under 5 to 70-80. In 1820 there are two Huffs in Monroe, Abraham and John. Abraham seems to be the oldest. I suspect they do connect somehow to those Huffs in Sussex Co., NJ. In the 1860 Census, Blooming Grove, Orange Co., NY there is a Matilda HUFF (13) and Abigail HUFF (52) living in the household of Lewis HALL. They have been indexed as HAFF but clearly it's HUFF when you look at it. Unfortunately, this census doesn't identify the relationship of persons to the head, but it's possible Lewis HALL is a brother to Abigail. Also possible his wife Mary I. is a sister to her or, they are not related at all. But I do think it's worth looking into. Even though the ages are a little inconsistent with the 1850 census, I do think this is the same family and I think it's safe to assume that Jonah has died by now.
