Hello, did the 1845 NYS census in Orange County list every person in a family individually by name, or only the head of household? Thank-you, Tom.

They tell what is in the censuses for various years, and which counties had state censuses in which years. Specifically, "Beginning in 1855, the name of every person in the household is listed." I hope this helps you and others with similar questions about the NY state censuses, very few of which have ever been indexed. Marty Irons
