Francis Drake 1st b. ca 1750-60. Family lived Ovid and Romulus, Seneca Co., NY. early 1800s. Their son, Francis Drake 2nd, lived in Dansville, Steuben Co., NY and married Betsey Elizabeth Seeley, First Presbyterian Church Romulus, NY April 9, 1808. The Drake family reportedly came from Chester, NY. (Possibly in Orange Co. or Westchester Co.) The children of the Drake/Swarthout couple were: Francis b. ca 1775 Joshua Samuel Julia Sally Betsey Catherine Jemima Peter b. ca 1810 The widow of Francis Drake 1st reportedly married a Tavern keeper, possibly a Swarthout. Her grandchilden reported in written correspondence, that the 2nd husband tavern keeper was of small stature and their Grandmother was a large women. She kept the peace in the tavern when he was unable to. Her first name may have been Betsey or Elizabeth. As always, looking for MY Francis P. Drake b. ca 1801 NY married Mary Ann Carpenter in Tompkins Co., NY. Moved to Sandusky Co., Ohio in 1835 and died ca 1850s in Wood Co., Virginia. Susan Scott
