I have a James A. Conklin born 19 Oct 1824 in New York State, died 23 Aug 1889. He was the son of Abraham Conklin and Mary Van Wart (no BMD dates known). James married Charlotte Knapp born 25 Nov 1825, died 27 Mar 1916 in Milford, Connecticut. My database only cotains two children for James and Charlotte, namely Mary Conklin b. c. 1851 and Sarah Conklin b. c. 1861. My connection to this family is through the Knapps, a Rockland family which I research on behalf of the Phillips-Knapp Family Association. I also have a more recent Conklin who married a Knapp. Jeremiah Conklin was born 17 March 1885 in Beaver Pond, Orange County, New York. He died in 1971. His wife was Nettie D. Knapp born 7 May 1868 in Stonly Point, Rocklkand County, New York. She died 24 Dec 1835 in Garnerville, Rockland County, New York. Her parents were George Knapp and Mary McKenzie Thiell, both born in Haverstraw on 28 Apr 1816 and 09 Mar 1819 respectively. Both parents were pre-Revolutionary War settlers of Rockland County. I have a Isabella (Bella) Conklin marrying a Joseph Walter Greatorex in Highland Falls, Orange Co, NY. The date was I believe was 13 July 1907. Parents of Bella were James Conklin and Hannah Lewis. I know very little about them except that James died in July 1912 aged 73 also in Highland Falls.
