    3. I haven't asked about my two mystery WOOD girls, Elizabeth and Jane, in a while. I only know of them due to mention in their grandpa Arthur McKinney's will made 1793, he died 1801, it was probated 1802. This starts out being about Jane (Jannetje) McKINNEY his daughter abt 1752-abt 1793 (stubborn old Matthew's sister). Jane married first Jurg Lodewick WELLER 1770, they had 4 children by 1777, Mary, Frederick, James, and Ludwig Jr. This is Montgomery Town, Ulster/Orange. I do not know what Mr WOOD Jane married next, maybe about 1780 or later, only that when she died young by 1793 there were the 2 young daughters Elizabeth and Jane. As best I can guess they were born some time in the 1780s up to 1793. I don't even know that *this* Wood family was living at Montgomery! census index: Abner Wood Montgomery, Ulster, NY 1790 Abraham Wood Montgomery, Ulster, NY 1790 Benjamin Wood Montgomery, Ulster, NY 1790 William Wood Montgomery, Ulster, NY 1790 Abraham Wood Montgomery, Orange, NY 1800 Benjamin Wood Montgomery, Orange, NY 1800 Samuel Wood Montgomery, Orange, NY 1800 Abner Wood Montgomery, Orange, NY 1810 Abraham Wood Montgomery, Orange, NY 1810 Samuel Wood Montgomery, Orange, NY 1810 William S Wood Montgomery, Orange, NY 1810 I'll take any help I can get and even follow the wild goose! ____________________________________________________________________________________ Expecting? 3. Hi Kaye Have you tried looking for wills of the various Wood men from Montgomery. They might list the children. I have been researching George W. McKinney of Vails Gate b. 1782 for quite a while and I have talked to you from time to time. I also research Wood families in and around Cornwall, Orange Co. NY. One of my grandfathers was a John Wood born in Cornwall around 1785. They have lived on Storm King Mt. in Cornwall since the 1760s. I have not come across the girls as of yet. I will let you know if I do.
