    1. Re: [NYORANGE] NYORANGE Digest, Vol 2, Issue 22
    2. Hi Jackie, Was wondering if there is a record for Joseph getting married to Rachel at this Church or whatever records there is on Joseph. Thanks, Frank - New Lebanon, NY Joseph L. Sayre ...Married 1st, Louisa Thompson, had 1 son and 1 daughter; 2nd, on 2-Sep-1843, Rachel Dickers, daughter of an English Quaker, Henry Dickers. They had 3 sons and 2 daughters. Joseph was a farmer in Orange County, and Deacon of the Presbyterian Church in Goshen, NY. He had been a Captain of the Light Horse Artillery, and served in the Mexican Wars. He died at Goshen 19-Oct-1854, age 48. [Notes by John M. Sayre, 1997]: Joseph, like several of his cousins in Orange County, probably used the "Sayer" spelling. He is enumerated on the 1850 census living at Goshen. After Josephs death in 1854, Rachel and the children apparently removed to New York City to live with/near her father, or possibly a brother, a HenryDickers. ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone.
