Ian, this is a bit weird meeting up on the Orange Co List. I have Woodcock in my tree from Darfield, Yorks. Could my Ann Woodcock be part of your family. I have Ann Woodcock marrying my William Greatorex on Xmas Day 1854. Per the marriage certificate I have the father of Ann as George Woodcock occ Labourer of Darfield. One of the witness's was a William Woodcock. The oldest child of this marriage, George Greatorex born 1856 Ridgeway by Eckington Derbyshire emigrated to the US and settled in Highland Falls, Orange Co, NY. Thats why I suscribe to this list. Fyi: New Jersey is not in Orange Co which is part of NY State. What evidence do u have for a New Jersey connection? Regards Mike Greatorex Harrogate, England Looking for all Greatorex's from North Nottinghamshire, Sheffield, Orange Co, NY, USA, Florida and Alabamha, USA. http://www.freewebs.com/greatorexfamily/ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ian Spencer" <ieroyal@bigpond.net.au> To: <NYORANGE@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 03, 2009 1:03 AM Subject: [NYORANGE] WOODCOCK Family > > Hello List, > > I am trying to trace the descendents of two brothers, Henry born 1852, > and > John born 1854, both in Yorkshire, England. > > I believe they went to America, probably in the early 1880s and settled in > New Jersey. > > Any information about them and their descendents would be of great > interest > for me. > > Thank You, > > Ian. > > > > _____ > > I am using the Free version of SPAMfighter > <http://www.spamfighter.com/len> > . > We are a community of 6 million users fighting spam. > SPAMfighter has removed 5 of my spam emails to date. > The Professional version does not have this message. > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > NYORANGE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message > >
