    1. [NYORANGE] Margaret (?) Thompson m. Jonathan Pearce, Parse, any spelling about 1800-02?
    2. S. Pearce
    3. All,   I am following a lead.  Jonathan Pearce had a son, Joseph Thompson Pearce, a son named for his father evidently, Willis Pearce, and a daughter Sarah Pearce/Pierce Willett, who named her first and only daughter Margaret Marietta Willett.  These children's mother died when they were quite small; maybe when Joseph was born or a couple of years later.  Their stepmother was named Catherine.  Their father had moved from Pochuck, Vernon Twp., Sussex Co., on the Orange Co. line to Ontario Co. about 1804.  Sarah was born 1805.  Willis was born about 1804.  Joseph, about 1807.   I have been considering that maybe the mother had the surname Thompson which does show up in old Orange Co.  I haven't really gotten anywhere with that, but now I wonder if there was a Margaret or Marietta Thompson probably born about 1780-85 maybe in Orange Co. or environs who may have married a Jonathan somebody (where the name of record might be something like Parce or Pearse or Pearce), b. 1764.  The name "Margaret" and "Marietta" come from out of nowhere and don't show anywhere else.  Could be from the Willett side; I am just ot sure.  The Willetts were from Middlesex Co., NJ, earlier from Hunterdon Co., NJ. Thank you for any assist. Sharon Pearce, sharpearce@yahoo.com
