Comfort born October 6, 1833 married a _______ Purdy Only one child is listed: Frank Purdy birth___ - died before 1950. He was a blacksmith at Fair Oaks, Orange Co NY The book states much of the information concerning Benjamin Comfort and Hannah B. (Woodward) Comfort [married March 27, 1828] and his family came from the Alonzo Comfort's family bible. Hope this helps! New York State does not have birth, marriage or death certificates prior to 1880. Louisa Comfort Purdy died in 1914. Have you checked with Town of Wallkill, Orange County, NY and Town of Mamakating, Sullivan County, NY for a death certificate and burial permit? It may show her parents.
