Westchester County Genealogical Society (NY) Upcoming Meeting is this coming Saturday. MEETING INFO: WHAT: The History of the Hudson River and Henry Hudson with Dr. Raymond E. Phillips WHEN: Saturday, February 13, 2010 @ 10 a.m. WHERE: Aldersgate Methodist Church, 600 Broadway in Dobbs Ferry (across from Mercy College on route 9) While Dr. Phillips is an Associate Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College and Westchester Medical Center, he has had a long interest and activities on the Hudson River. Dr. Phillips has been a crewmember, ordinary seaman, on the historical ship, the Half Moon over the past ten years. Phillips is an adjunct teacher for courses on the Hudson River, including its first people, at Westchester Community College. He also gives talks and historical hikes on the Hudson River at various locations including Fort Montgomery. Along with Putnam Preservation Council, Phillips is involved in building a 20 foot scale model of Hudson Highlands which will be on display spring/summer 2010 Guests are always welcome.
