    2. Will of Reuben Tooker as transcribed by Lil Heselton Orange county, Liber A page 54 - 25 July 1786 LDS film 0835417 In the Name of God Amen. I Reuben Tooker of Cornwall Precinct, in Orange county and State of New york, cordwainer, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, being week in body but in perfect mind and memory, blessed be God for the same being anxious to to make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner following first I order all my just debts and funeral charges to be paid out of my Personal estate in as short a time after my decease as profitable. Also I give and bequesth unto my beloved wife Rachel one feather bed and furniture, one horse and side saddle such as she shall choose and likewise I will and direct that my said wife shall have the best room in my house and be provided with a good and sufficient maintenance out of the farm, messuage, or tenement whereever I now live for and during the time that she shall remain my widow and also I order and direct that my wife shall have the use of all my livestock that shall be left on the aforesaid farm at my decease after the aforesaid debts and funeral charges shall be paid. Together with the priviledge of their being kept and supported on the said farm.And also I give and bequeath unto my eldest son Charles Tooker the sum of five shillings to be paid out of my Personal estate within the term of Twelve months after my decease. Also I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph Tooker, one sorrel mare which he now uses and that feather bed which he now uses and I order that my son Joseph Tooker shall have a sufficient maintenance out of the farm, messuage and tenement on which I now live and also I give and bequeath unto my son Selah Tooker all the farm messuage or tenement whereon I now live to him his heirs and assigns forever excepting the legassies and dowries herein mentioned and likewise I order and direct that my said son Selah Tooker shall have the use of my team consisting of one yoke of oxen and two horses until the first day of may which will be in the year of ont thousand seven hundred and ninety and also I will and bequeath my son Issac tooker all my livestock that shall remain after my wife's decease and all the said stock that she shall not stand in need of while living. Also I give and bequeath to my daughter Mehitable Rumsey one iron pot which she now has in possession and one chest with drawers and also I give and bequeath to my daughters Mary Rumsey and Hannah Duryea all my household furniture after my wifes decease to be equally divided except one set of curtains which I give to Hannah Duryea and thereby Make order constitute and appoint Selah Tooker and Garret Duryea Executors to this my Last Will ans Testament. In trust for the purposes in this Will contained hereby revoking all former Wills by me made In witness therof I hereunto have set my hand and seal this twenty first day of July in the year one thousand seven hundred and eighty six. God bless them for what they left for us. Recent visits to surrogate court in Goshen have discovered that there are wills not covered in this book at all. OCGS has no info on the contents of these wills....the names, years, libers and pages are shown for information only. Preamble: The People of the State of New York by the Grace of God, Free and Independent to all whom these presents shall come or may concern, find greeting, knowing that at Goshen in the County of Orange on the fourth day of January in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty two, before Edward Ely, surrogate of our said County, the last will and testament of Jemima Hall deceased (its contents whereof is hereby annexed) was proved and is now approved and allowed of???said deceased having whilst she lived and at the time of her death the goods chattels or credits within this state by means whereof the proving and registering this last will and the granting administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased, and also the auditing all and singular and final dispersing of the account thereof doth belong unto us: the administration of all and singular, the goods chattels and credit is of the said deceased in any way or manner ?..will ! is granted unto Samuel Muckelroy, the Executor in the said will ??.Being first duly sworn well and faithfully to administer the same unto us when thereunto required. In testimony whereof We have assigned the seal and office of said Surrogate to be hereunder affixed. Witness Edward Ely, Surrogate of the said county at Goshen the fifth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty two and of our independence the forty-sixth. A Will: I, Jemima Lancaster of the Town of Monroe do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following: First: I give and bequeath unto my nephew Samuel Hall the son of Joseph Hall a cow wanting Joseph Hall to take care of the cow for the child Samuel Hall until he wants her. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Sally one tea kettle, larder chest and bed. The bedding to be equally divided between my son Joseph and my daughter Sally. I give and bequeath to my son Joseph Hall the house. I give and bequeath unto my son James one dollar in money and what ?.is more and above what I have mentioned I wish to be sold and the money equally to be divided between my son Joseph and daughter. I hereby nominate constitute and appoint Samuel Muckelroy my executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. In Witness whereof I hereby set my hand and seal the 20th day of March 1821. Jemima Hall her mark Signed sealed published and declared by the said testator Jemima Hall and for her last will and testament in the presence of us who have subscribed out names as witness thereto in the presence of said testator: John D Van Duzer; Charlotte Van Duzer; Samuel McElroy Letters testamentary: Be it remembered that on the fourth day of January in the year of our lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty two personally appeared before me Edward Ely, Surrogate of the County of Orange Jones D Van Duzer and being duly sworn he did declare and say that he did see Jemima Hall deceased sign by making her mark thereto and seal the paper writing thern shown unto him purporting to be the last will and testament of the said deceased of which the proceeding is a copy and heard her publish and declare the same as her last will and testament, that at the time thereof, she, the deceased was of sound and disposing mind and memory to the best of his knowledge and belief and that together with charlotte Van Duzer and Samuel Muckelroy subscribed their names thereto as witnesses in the presence of the testator and in the presence of each other. The preceding is a true copy of the will of Jemima Hall deceased of the certificate of the proof thereof and the letter testamentary thereon.
