Is there a source of information for earlier wills? My ancestors had left Orange County by 1797. Christina Hats off to those who created the "Early Wills of Orange County NY"... a monumental undertaking. God bless them for what they left for us.

Christina, if your ancestors had left Orange County, any probate records would normally be filed where they lived at time of death, not where they used to live. The "Early Wills of Orange County NY" book does have some abstracts 1730-1787, but I'd presume that all of them died in this area. Do you have specific names and dates? Marty Irons
