Dear List, Does anybody how, if, any of these folks might be related?? PHINIUS DUN of Goshen - Liber A - page 57 Will made - Dec 26, 1788 Probated Jan. 9, 1789 Wife - Anna Dun Daughters - Zeruiah Dun, Elizabeth Dun Executors - Anna Dun and Moses Carpenter Witnesses - Calvil (I wonder if that is Colvil) Shepard and Ezra Doty My interest in this Phinius Dun is that the above named MOSES CARPENTER was my ancestor. MOSES CARPENTER married ELIZABETH RUNYON of Morris Co. and baptized their daughter in the Goshen Pres. Ch. (Or. Co.), NY in 1775. His wife was apparently deceased by then. Moses remarried a long time prior to 1788 (Phineas Will) but still was his executor. I would guess this was because there were several Dunn/Runyon marriages in the family and he was helping his first wife's family, but I would like to know the relationship because I cannot find the ancestors of Moses Carpenter. I also have a mortgage abstract for PHINIS DUNN, yoeman, Goshen, to Daniel Denton, John Kinner, and John Jackson, Goshen for property in the Wawayanda Patent part of lot # 13 which border south Michael Jackson and North # 14 now in posession of Joseph Carpenter, NW Michael Jackson. pd. Lot # 13 border SW Michael Jackson, # 14 Joseph Carpenter, 90 acres, 250 pounds. I have also found NJ Phineas Dunns, but this seems to be what I have on the Orange Co. Phineas Dun(n). The 1790 Warwick (Orange Co. where my Moses Carpenter is listed also) Federal Census lists: DANIEL DUNN 1-2-3, AARON DUNN 1-0-3, ANNA DUNN 1-3-5, and REUBEN DUNN 1-3-3. Regards, Phoebe in CA P.S. I have a very old and large (some say charcoal over photo) of a young lady, sweet little face, that seems to have the name, "A Dun" scrauled on the back.
