To Linda and others I saw nothing in Ruttenber & Clark about families missing because they were loyalist. That seems to me a dirty trick to go back and expunge a legal record of persons of the wrong political stripe. If they were there, they ought to stay there. I did not find my Cornells in the Roll, but my Gabriel Cornell/Cornwall was born about 1759/60 and was surely not a land owner in 1775. Apparently he never was, as I could not find any Cornell families in Warwick at the Clerk's office in Goshen when I visited there some years ago. If any of you have the opportunity to visit Orange Co. -- and nothing has changed -- be prepared for a most pleasant experience searching for records. The Clerk's and Surrogate's offices are self serve. You go find the record and then have the clerk copy it for you. What could be nicer than that! Wish I could go back, but it's an 800 mile trip for me one way. Tom Cornell
