Surnames that I'm researching in Orange County: ALLISON: My earliest known ancestor, my G5 grandfather Joseph ALLISON, moved to Goshen in Orange County, NY in 1725 and died there in 1755. I have obtained a copy of Joseph Allison's will, which he wrote in 1752, from the NY State Archives which lists the names of his children. They are Joseph, Richard, Richardson, Thomas, Cornelius, Benjamin, Phoebe, Sarah, Elizabeth, Isaac and William. They all lived in Orange County. I trace my ancestry back to Joseph through two of his sons, Richardson and Isaac. DAVIS: Isaac ALLISON, Jr. (Joseph's grandson) married Mary DAVIS. The father of Mary DAVIS may have been Gilliam DAVIS. KETCHAM: Richardson ALLISON's wife may have been Anne KETCHAM. KNAPP: Richardson's son, James ALLISON, married Amy Keziah KNAPP. JENNINGS: Joseph's daughter, Phoebe ALLISON, may have married Richard JENNINGS. I'll be very happy to share info with anyone researching any of these names. Thanks. Mary Allison Yonan <yonan@fgi.net>
