At The POORHOUSE STORY website http://www.poorhousestory.com we are DELIGHTED to tell you that the local community of NEWBURGH and surrounding areas are joining together to pay respect to the people who died at the Poorhouse for the Town/City of Newburgh by gathering together on JUNE 10th to CLEAN-UP the CEMETERY and put in place a system for its permanent maintenance in the future. YOU CAN JOIN THEM! Your participation in that event will demonstrate to the people of that community that you appreciate their good work; it will also demonstrate to officials in other communities that the preservation of poorhouses and their records and cemeteries is something about which the public CARES!
