Hello List, Have a little more possible info on my search for the William Moore family of Orange County. Scenario to date: William Moore, probably born in late 1790's in Ireland may have arrived in Philadelphia on the "Harmony" in 1811 as part of the Pennsylvania indentured servant system. If his indenture lasted for seven years that places him in PA until 1818. Another William Moore descendent found a birth record for Seth Moore born 8 January 1827 born in Mt. Hope, Orange County, NY whose parents were William Moore and Mary Chapman Moore. William Moore is listed in the 1840 Orange County Census in Deer Park with five children:2 males under 5; 1 male at least 5 but under 10; 1 male child at least 10 but under 15; 1 male at least 40 but under 50; 2 female children, one of which was at least 15 but under 20; and his wife. POSSIBILITIES: The male child between ages 10-15 could be the Seth born to William and Mary Moore in 1827; and one of the female children could be my GGgrandmother, Abagail J. Moore born about 1828 in Deer Park, NY.. ADDITIONAL INFO: The 1865 NY State Census of Deer Park, Orange Co., NY lists: David Moore, 56 born in Orange Co. (A brother of William?) Phoebe Moore, 57 born in Orange Co. Mary Moore, 30 born in Orange Co. Lydia Moore, 4l born in Orange Co. (widow of Seth Moore) -- possibly William's daughter-in-law? Lydia/Seth's children: Adelia 9; Violetta 7; Abjah 5 (son); Charles 3; William 5 months. SPECULATION: Could Abjah (Lydia/Seth's son) have been named after my GGgrandmother Abagail? Could 5-month-old William have been named for his grandfather, William Moore? Any Chapman's or Moore's ou there with any information on anyone listed above? Any theories? Thanks for your time and attention! JoAnne Gage Teske - Wisconsin
