I may have written to you earlier: I am interested in the Orange Co. Moores because they married into my Carpenter and Wisner families. John Carpenter married (Abigail or Hannah Moore, dau of Benjamin Moore of Or. Co.) (Sorry I do not have the first name for sure because I am on vacation in OR and do not have my records - believe Abigail, but not sure)John and his wife moved to Onondaga Co. NY about 1800. After they death of John she remarried. There is a mortgage in the Or. Co. mortgages that confirms this and I have a copy of it at home in CA. ----note: this John Carpenter is listed as the brother of my proven ancestor, Moses Carpenter and his marriage, etc. is discussed in a book called the Carpenter Memorial - I have a copy of the book at home. ALSO My ancestor, James Wisner, also from Or. Co. who moved to Onondaga Co. NY married a widow (apparently) Hannah (I believe, but could be Abigail Moore). This lady had sons named: William and Benjamin. I have their birth dates (dates like 1802 and 1808) that were in my grandmother's stuff. This may or may not be helpful to you. If you would like to contact me after I get back to CA in a couple weeks I could send you the above referenced info. Incidently, I believe that it is possible that widow Hannah Moore may have been Hannah Gillis Phoebebased on the Goshen Pres. Ch. book.
