Hi List, Looking for info/contacts from anyone re the family of Valentine Hewlett PETERS. I believe he lived in Hempstead, NY. Some of his family moved to eastern Canada in the late 1700's to whom I am connected. Does anyone know from where his family originated? Are there any Peters out there connected to this family line? Hinshaw's Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genalogy lists a Valentine Peters, no birth date given, son of William and Ann -- Ann died 28 Jan 1814, age 51. William and Ann had 8 kids (Hinshaw gives death dates for most of the kids, but not birth dates). The family came from Creek Quaker Monthly Meeting to the New York City Monthly Meeting on 21 November 1800. Creek MM was in Dutchess County, NY in the town of Clinton. If the above looks as if it might be your family, get the Creek MM films from the LDS. I think they are #0017295, #0017296 and #0017297. Cheers, Bob leahy@friend.ly.net Easton, Maryland
