Hi Julie, At 11:59 PM 6/26/00 -0400, Julie C Hesson wrote: >Does anyone have Jean Worden's book of the records of Shawangunk RDC? >I need two marriages and a baptism looked up: > >Isaak DECKER & Anneken BOGARDUS, marriage: > >Peter DECKER & Maria HOFFMAN, marriage: > >Levi DECKER, born 08 Jul 1788, baptized: > >I believe they all took place in Shawangunk RDC, but not 100% certain of >it. Hurley/New Hurley are also possibilities. Some of these people are shown in the book by William Bogardus, Dear "Cousin": A Charted Genealogy of the Descendants of Anneke Jans Bogardus (1605-1663) to the 5th Generation. For the marriage of Isaak DECKER & Annetjen BOGARDUS he has only "c. 1742". So he was apparently unable to find a record. He shows that both they and their kids were bap. at Kingston, so I would guess Isaak and Annetjen were married nearby. For the marriage of Peter DECKER & Maria HOFFMAN (Peter the son of Isaac and Maria above) he shows they were married 30 Jun 1772 at the Reformed Protestant Dutch Chruch of Shawangunk. All the kids of Isaac and Maria, though bap. at Kingston, married at Shawangunk. So, maybe the family moved from one place to the other. The last bap. at Kingston was Jacob in 1756. The first married at Shawangunk was Tjaadje in 1766. He doesn't show Levi. If he was the son of Peter and Maria, then that is the 6th generation, which is not shown. I think Shawangunk is in Ulster Co, so might want to also ask in an Ulster Co. forum. Regards, Howard hswain@ix.netcom.com
