    3. Oliver, Thanks so much for responding. I am excited about the information you gave me. Yes, this is the Borland family I am researching. I don't have much information on the Taylor family yet so I have been concentrating on the Borland's in the hope that it would help me find more on the Taylor's. 1 William Borland married to 1) Rebecca MacNeal 2) Tabitha MacNeal (sisters) Children: Thomas Borland *Charles b. ca 1750's m. 28 Oct 1779 to Rebecca MacNeal at Goshen John Borland Jean married Armstrong Patience married McLaughlin Tabitha m. 30 June 1777 to Israel Smith Mary married Bradner Rebecca Isabel Phebe William Borland Reference will of William Borland "Full Context of New York City Wills 1777-1783" Page 156, will proved 20 Jan 1780. 2) Charles Borland m. 28 Oct 1779 to Rebecca MacNeal -Ref. "Early Records of the first Presbyterian Church at Goshen NY by Coleman. Children: Margaret b. 24 Mar 1784 m. Richard Merrill Charles Borland b. 1786 John Borland b.or christened 15 April 1789 *Tabitha b.or christened 26 Feb 1791 m. to James Taylor William Borland 3) Tabitha Borland b. 1791 Orange County, NY m. James Taylor b. ca 1786 Orange Co NY Children known: Charles B. Taylor b. 1810 m. to Arvilla___?__. *Horace S. Taylor b. 7 Feb 1818 in St. Lawrence Co NY m. to Maria Starr William b. ca 1819 m. to Elicta A. ___?__ Ref. Census records St. Lawrence County, NY. Biography of Horace S. Taylor. I don't know yet who James Taylor's parents were or who his siblings were. I do know that he moved to Hermon Township, St. Lawrence County, New York about 1805 and was the earliest settler there. In the 1840 census there were twelve members in his family there. Charles and Rebecca Borland and family also moved to St. Lawrence County, New York, by 1810. By 1860 some of these families had moved on to Medina County, Ohio.
