I have hit a brick wall researching my grandfather James Forbes Taylor's(1849-1902) family. So I am reposting my research interest using the middle names of James Forbes Taylor's children. One of his children was named Carrie DOTY Taylor(1874-1919). I am hoping this middle name might be a family name of a branch of the family tree. I know that the Taylor family lived in Pond Eddy, New York; Minisink, New York and Port Jervis New York. I am wondering if Abner DOTY born about 1820 in Minisink, Orange, New York might be the family member that caused Carrie to have the middle name DOTY. Could anyone possibly have some information about the descendents of Abner DOTY? James Forbes Taylor married Melissa Carpenter. The Carpenter family was also from Orange County.
