For those of you who are not able to travel to Goshen, here is information on how to obtain photocopies. You absolutely MUST know what Liber and page(s) to request. Therefore, I suggest that you first contact me for a lookup from: "Early Orange County Wills" (V1 1731-1788, V II June 27, 1787 to Dec 31, 1830) , Orange County Genealogical Society, 101 Main St, Goshen, NY, 1997. Before I am bombarded with requests, please make special note that the book has wills from 1731 through 1830 ONLY. To obtain a photocopy of the Will(s) from Volume 2 only, write to the Orange County Surrogate's Court, P O BOX 329, Goshen NY 10924. The fee for copies is $.50 per page. Be sure to specify the name on the Will, as well as the Liber and page(s) you are requesting. They MUST receive a check for the EXACT amount and you MUST include a stamped self-addressed envelope. From my own experiences, I have found that Wills are often more than one page. Therefore, you might want to request the KNOWN page and the next one too. At $.50 each, you can hardly go wrong and it will save you time and money in the long-run! Best wishes to you as you research your ancestors. Jeannie-ology : )
