The Taylors, Poppinos, Armstrongs and Jacksons all lived around each other a mile or so SW of Florida in the late 18th and early 19th Centuries. There is still a Taylor Road there, running between Jessup (formerly Armstrong) Road and Old Ridge Road. I know a good bit about the Poppinos Armstrongs and Jacksons and other families there but not the Taylors. Mary Poppino (b 1750s, d 1853, married James Jackson who died in 1807. Afterward Mary lived with various Taylors so she must have had a dau who married one but I have no information on any of her kids. I have a sheet from the Elizabeth Horton collection at OCGS that says William Borland (Capt) of Ulster Co (1703-1779/80) m1 Rebecca McNeal; m2 Tabitha McNeal (b 5-28-1724, d 6-20-1815). Among their children were Jean who m Francis Armstrong, and Charles who m Rebecca McNeal Oct 28 1779 (6 children}. Others mentioned. So I assume your James Taylor was from the same neighborhood. Do you have any records of a Taylor marrying a Jackson or other info about the Taylors in that neighborhood? Maybe we can help each other.
