    1. [NYORANGE] Or. Co, Morris Co. Dun, Sayer, Runyon, Carpenters
    2. Re: the Dunn site. I just got there myself and was too lazy to leave a message. Guess you have inspired me to go back and do it. I am looking for a PHINEAS DUN, who apparently died in Goshen, Or. Co. NY in 1788. He may be related to my ELIZABETH RUNYON (dau of RICHARD of Morris Co.)(NOTE: named in her father's will as deceased with a surviving child in 1775). Elizabeth RUNYON married about 1774 one MOSES CARPENTER. Moses CARPENTER was probably from Goshen, NY as he buys property in Orange Co. from a SAMUEL SAYER from Morris Co, NJ. in ab. 1774. (DEED) Next record I find is he baptizes his dau, ELIZABETH RUNYON CARPENTER in 1775. (Bapt. Goshen Pres. Church). Then he takes a mortgage out on this Or. Co. property (MORT) (apparently after his wife died, maybe before he was borrowing on a handshake, my rationale is based on the fact that she she was related to NJ Sayers. Next he remarried Hannah Smith of Or. Co., then he sells his property to JAMES SAYER (DEED). Then he buys more property in Or. Co. in Warwick. Then Aaboput 10 years later, (Or. Co. NY wills) I find him as the Adm. of the estate of PHINEAS DUN of Goshen will made Dec 26,1788 probated Jan 9,1789. Dun children mentioned: Zeruiah and Elizabeth wife Anna, witnesses: CALVIL SHEPARD and EZRA DOTY. So why does he adm. the will of Phineas Dun? Because the NJ Dunns and Runyons are related? (I have seen lots of such relationships.) Or, is he or his new wife somehow related to them, or just (obvious deathbed will - see dates) a helping hand? There are other DUNS listed in Warwick, Orange Co, NY in the 1790 census, and also an Anne Dunn. Additionally, since I have discovered all of the above, in my grandmother's pictures I have finally identified the scribbled name on the back as "A Dun." One photographer told me that this picture MAY be a photograph of a charcoal drawing and that it probably was one of a pair of wedding pictures. This picture was in the "stuff" of my grandmother who had been descended from the RUNYONS thru the Melvins, Or. Co. Wisner/Carpenters, Carpenter/Runyon, Runyon/VanCourt lines. Any light shed on this subject would be greatly welcomed. Sum up: 1. Who was Phineas Dun d. 1788-89 Goshen, NY? 2. Who was A. Dun, young lady in my large picture?
