Hi List, Does anyone have access to the names of units from Orange County that served in the War of 1812? One of my ancestors, Samuel Jamison, has a War of 1812 veteran marker by his headstone and I'm trying to determine if he really served (or if the marker has been moved there in error). I found an index card for a Samuel Jameson/Jamison serving in a Capt. Clark's New York Militia. Is anyone familiar with this? I know I can send away for the file, but since there are so many index cards for people with this name, I thought I would try to narrow it down first. Thanks for any help.
