My ancestor, James Wisner married as his 1st wife Elizabeth Runyon CARPENTER, daughter of Moses Carpenter and as his 2nd wife Hannah Moore about 1811. James Wisner and Elizabeth had the following children: (Betsy, John, and Moses C. - all dy) then Sarah M. m Sheldon Pardee Moses Carpenter Wisner m Elizabeth Bunce John T. m Betsy Jones Elizabeth N. m Joel Melvin, then Wm Pitt Jolene (Jeline?) m Lucy Melvin, sister of Joel Henry m Biancy House James R. Jr. m Hannah Moore and James Wisner, Sr. had the following Wisner Ch: Charles M may have had a son, Aurthur? Asa R. m Emily Bills and Michael R. dy Additionally, I find in my family records also John Moore b. (prob) 1803 and Benjamin B. Moore b 1808. Probably sons of Hannah prior to her marriage to James. According to sources, Moses Carpenter had a brother John and John Carpenter's second wife was Abigail Moore from Orange Co, dau of Benjamin Moore. - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - ------------------------------------- I recently found this information in the Onondaga Co. appointment of guardians: Abigail Moore of Fabius, guardian: Henry Moore 11, Charles Moore 9, Josiah Moore 6, Augustus Moore 4, Mariah Moore 2, children of Augustus Moore. The name MARIAH is used by the Wisner family referring back several generations to Mariah McDowell, maternal ancestor and and the name AUGUSTUS is used later with James Wisner descendants. 1.
