Hi, I'm looking for death information for the twins John "Jack" (B?) SMITH and Walter "Walt" (E?)SMITH who were b. abt 1915 in Orange Co. NY, sons of Phebe BAKER and Carl SMITH. The family story goes that they had visited an amusement park near Newburgh, had a car accident, and they were killed along with one of the two girls in the car with them. The other girl was badly injured. I believe they went to high school in Cornwall, and played baseball and other sports. They lived there and/or in Firthcliff. I think they were killed in 1933 in Oct or Nov, but they may have died in 1934 or 1935. I thought that perhaps that event might make the local newspaper. I was sent a totally undated short memorial for them from a newspaper, but there is NO identification as to date. Also, they had a younger brother Russell SMITH who was b. abt 1924, again in Orange, and who just seemed to disappear as a child. No one has ever mentioned him but he was on the 1925 NY census with the family. I know SMITH is a common name, but am hoping someone has researched a branch of the family and can go "aha."
