    1. Roes in Orange Co.
    2. Ed & Mary Yonan
    3. Hi Jack, I noticed that you are researching the Roe family of OC and am writing to inquire if you have any information about the following Roe family. I would like to learn the date and place of death of Bathsheba (Bersheba) Roe who married Samuel Allison in Orange Co. in 1821. She was the daughter of J. and Susanna Roe. I believe this is her ancestry: David Roe (1); Nathaniel (2); Nathaniel (3) m. Mary ca. 1725; Jonas (4) m. Phebe ca.1750; Timothy (5) m. Martha Sayre ca. 1759; Susanna Roe (6) m. J. Roe. {Susanna Roe's will was made in Jan. 1826, proved Feb. 1, 1828. In it, Susanna mentions her daughter, Bersheba (7) Allison, wife of Samuel Allison, and son her Timothy Roe (7). } I have seen a LDS microfilm of the marriage records of the Dutch Reformed Church in Warwick which gives her name as Bathsheba Rowe, married to Samuel Allison 10 March 1821. It is difficult to know whether her name was Bathsheba or Bersheba. I want to find out when and where Bathsheba/Bersheba died. Samuel Allison and their three children (Susan, Samuel and Isaac Allison) were listed in the 1850 census in Licking Co., OH, but Bathsheba is not listed. I know that several Allisons migrated from Orange Co., NY to Licking Co., OH in 1841. I have found Samuel's gravestone in Licking Co., but Bathsheba isn't buried next to him. Perhaps she died in NY. If you have any information about Bathsheba/Bersheba ROE ALLISON or her ancestors, I would be very interested. Sincerely, Mary Allison Yonan

    3. I am searching for the parents of my ggg grandfather, James H. Owen b. 1825-6 Newburgh, Orange Co., NY d.1891 Fostertown, Orange Co., NY, and the two candidates listed below are competing for this exalted position. First is Jonathan Owen who appears on the 1820, 1830 and 1840 US Census living in Newburgh, Orange Co., NY. >From the 1830 census we surmise that he was born between 1781-1790 as was his wife and that he had 5 children as follows: 1. Male b. 1816-1820 2. Male b. 1821-1825 (could be James H.) 3. Female b. 1821-1825 4. Female b. 1826-1830 5. Female b. 1826-1830 the other is Benjamin Owen who appears on the 1820 and 1840 Census living in Newburgh (not on the 1830 Census at all) and from the 1820 & 1840 Census we gather that he was born 1791-1794 as was his wife and that he had 7 children as follows: 1. Male b. 1811-1820 2. Male b. 1811-1820 3. Female b. 1821-1825 4. Male b. 1826-1830 (Could be James H.) 5. Male b. 1826-1830 6. Female b. 1826-1830 7. 1. Christopher Mould
    2. Pamela J. Sears
    3. Hi Julie, I have done quite a bit of research on the Mould/Moule/Maule/Maul family and your Christopher Mould is the son of Johannes Maule and his wife Maria Catharina Menges. His date of birth was extracted from his gravestone which is located at the Brick Reformed Church in Montgomery, Orange, New York. The gravestone also indicates that he served in the 2nd Regiment of the Ulster County Militia during the Revolutionary War (also see the DAR Lineage Books, Vol 48, p 451). Christopher was baptized at the Brick Reformed Church in Montgomery on 7 Jun 1748 (Witnesses: Christian Menges. Maria Robberse, his wife...[Christian Menges was his mother's brother]). Christopher is a descendant of the German Palatine immigrant Johannes Maul who died either during the voyage to the new world, or shortly after his arrival, but most likely in 1710. I am not quite as familier with the Menges family, but I do know that Maria Catharina Menges is the daughter of Johannes Menges and Anna Eva Bosch of Eberbach, Germany. Johannes Maul married Maria Catharina Menges in Montgomery 6 Sep 1743 at the Brick Reformed Church. He was the son of Christoffel Maul and Anna Juliana Sargusch who married sometime during the voyage to the new world, or shortly after their arrival in New York. Johannes Maule was baptized in Kingston at the Old Dutch Reformed Church on 31 Jul 1720 (Witnesses: Frederik Mool; Ossertjen Mool, who were his first cousins)[Hoes Baptism #2791]. Christoffel Maul was baptized 15 Jan 1688 "as a child" in Driedorf, Hessen, Germany, (witnesses: Christoffel Theiss - single man, and Anna Julian Maul), the son of Johannes Maul & Anna Juliana Theiss. Johannes Maul was the son of Paulus Maul, buried 2 Apr 1686 in Drieforf, and Anna Engen, buried 18 Sept 1689 in Driedorf. My primary source for this information is "The Palatine Families of New York, A Study of the German Immigrants Who Arrived in Colonial New York in 1710" by Henry "Hank" Z. Jones, Jr., Universal City, California (1985). It is an excellent book on the Palatine immigration, and is available in most genealogical libraries, but can also be purchased directly from Hank Jones at the following website: http://www.hankjones.com/ I would greatly appreciate hearing back from you so I can add your branch of the family to my files. Hope this helps, Pam Sears (Cleveland, OH)

    1. Camp , Miles, 1809 Onondaga Co, NY
    2. Dear Folks, I am trying to find out why my ancestor was appointed the guardian of the following children. I have no knowledge of a relationship between the Camp and Wisner families; however, yesterday I learned that James Wisner may have been in Dutchess Co. at some point prior to moving to Camillus, (or Elbridge), Onondaga Co. While looking at the Dutchess Co. GenWeb site yesterday, I did see the surename, "Camp" listed, although I did not see the surename, "Wisner." On Nov 6, 1809 James Wisner whom, I believed, had gone from Orange Co. NY to Onondaga Co. NY about 8 yrs. previously, with his father in law Moses Carpenter was granted guardianship of the following children in Onondaga County: Miles Camp inf son of Miles Camp late of the town of Camillus, who was about 3 yrs. old. Lucinda Corey, inf dau of Thomas Corey late of Camillus who was about 14 yrs old. (Note: Lose Cory and Benjamin Moore of Orange Co. were the parents of Abigail Cory who married John Carpenter, who may have been the uncle of James Wisner's wife. Does anyone have information on any of the above or know if there was a relationship between the Camp and Corey children. I have no information that indicates a relationship between the Wisners and either the Camps or Coreys. Does anyone know what happened to these children? Any information or clue regarding the above, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, PHoebe in CA
