Hello OC Researchers: Leafing through the Ruttenber & Clark listing of the signers of the 1775 Pledge, I not the lists include some areas that were then Ulster county. Does anyone here know whether those R&C lists are partial or exhaustive for Ulster. If partial, are ther other such lists available somewhere for Ulster County? Along similar line; I also wonder whether deeds for real estate in areas previously part of Ulster (and from the era before becoming part of Orange) are currently on file in Orange or in Ulster? I wonder if any of you might have a copy of an obituary of Sophia Penny COX, wife of Martin Bross COX. She died before 1896 but after 1890 or 1892. They had lived (at one time) in Mt. Since so many of you kind folks have offered to do Orange County lookups, I would really appreciate it if someone could help me find some record of my GGgrandparents. They were Charles Clinton and Alice McCur. Charles, according to family tradition, was descended from either George or DeWitt Clinton. I have had no success finding the McCur name anywhere, have tried McCord, McCue, etc. and I cannot connect Charles to the Clinton family. I thought for a long time that Charles and Alice lived in Little Britain but now I'm not sure. Their daughter Margaret Clinton, my greatgrandmother, was born 9-10-1847, died 10-11-1905, married 1-1-1868 Cornelius Freer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Terri Freer Wilson

I’m looking for information on Harry Patterson and Mary O’Brien, my grandaunt. Research to date follows. Lucy Patterson and James McGuire were sponsors for the Baptism of Henry (Harry) McKeough on 06-Jul-1890 at St. Joseph’s Church in Troy, NY. Henry was a son of John J. McKeough and Anastasia O’Brien McKeough, a sister to my grandmother, Catherine O’Brien Duffy. The only records we have on the Pattersons indicate that Lucy may have been from Hoosick in Rensselaer County and may have been related to Harry Patterson. Harry Patterson married Mary O’Brien, a sister to Anastasia and Catherine O’Brien. Mary may have been single as late as 1890 but we don’t know when she was born. Jack O’Brien, my second cousin, said he had met Harry Patterson around 1941 when Jack was about 12. Harry was a coal miner then. Jack said Harry and Mary lived in Goshen, Orange County, NY. Harry Patterson and Mary O’Brien had 3 children, namely James, Harry and David.

Hi, All Sorry I do not have any books related to Orange Co., NY. But, would be forever indebted to anyone who would share ANY info re: the Fallons, who are known to have been in Walden in 1830 and probably for a time before and after that.
