Thank you Sue, not sure why I didn't think of that before, I just sent an email to Les as how to join, I do belong to NEGHS, that helped me find some ancestors on my mother's side of the family which I have many brickwalls. 2. Hi Peggy, I can't go back that far with my Rose family, I at this time only go back to the early 1800's with Reuben Rose and Charlotte Weyant. I looked through the family history sheets I have and didn't come across either name in the set. From what I am gathering there certainly were a lot of family's with the name Rose. 2. HI Peggy: My Roses are back in Connecticut around 1656. The Rose people that I am a descendant of were part of my Stephens line. Obediah Stevens and Rebecca Rose ca 1662 had a son Ephraim Stevens, in New England. The Rumsey's intermarried with the Smiths around Smith's Clove didn't they? I have Smith's too. They are all in the same line, but as near as I can tell I am not related to the ones in Smith's Clove. My Samuel Smith married Jane Stephens, and Jane Stephen's ancestors are the Roses. Note that my recent message says both Festus and Andrew are mentioned in the Crane will. Well, they are also mentioned together in the April 1820 will of Samuel Webb, where Andrew is named as a nephew (of Samuel) and son of Samuel's brother Charles. I would love to know the names of the Weyants buried around Bear Mountain State Park, their complete names, the date of death, etc., if you have that information. It would be much appreciated. Not sure how the other Weyants or Weiants may be related to John Weyant (my great-great grandfather) from the other areas you mentioned. I know there are many spelling variants of this name through the years and related some how or another. I have the old Rose family Bible that my great-aunt had given me as she knew I would cherish it forever, which shows the date of John Weyant and Susan Rose (married December 24, 1859, he died in 1911 and she in 1921) being married and then the dates of their children's birth, marriages and deaths of some of them. About 30 Weyant's in Harriman and Bear Mountain State Park burying grounds by Stevenot, plus 5 Weiant's. Coleman has no Vought's or Weyant's. Barber has two Weyant's in Vail's Gate.
