Hello List: I'm new to this list, having just joined today.I am interested in the above named and related families. My 2x greatgrandfather Rev. Nicholas Hurst ( Methodist ) born Ireland, died in Brewerton in 1868 and was buried in Riverside Cemetery. His widow Christiana and children can be located on the 1870 census in Cicero shortly before they returned to Essex County, Ontario, Canada. It is Nicholas' sister and her family that I am at present most interested in, as they remained in Cicero. Mary ( nee Hurst ) Telford b. Ireland 1816 died Nov 29 1902.married a John Telford ( 1806 - 1884 ). Their children: George ( m. Rachel Randall ), Robert, William ( m. an Elizabeth ), Thomas ( m. Marilla Hoyt ), Sarah ( m. Cicero Walker ), Fannie Matilda, John ( m. Rosa Tabor ), Fannie Matilda 2nd. and Mary. Any information at all is sought for these people. In particular, an obit for Mary Hurst Telford who died Nov 29 1902. She and many others mentioned are also buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Brewerton. I would love to make contact with any descendants as well. Other Hurst families also emigrated from Ireland to the Syracuse area in the 1830s. Cheers, Violet
