Can anyone please tell me the location of the Liverpool Cemetery? I am planning on going there this weekend to take photos of tombstones (wish me luck in finding them)! Anyway, I have ancestors buried there ( the Chillingworth's, Miller's and possibly the Myers/Meyers clans). I think the only "landmark" I may be able to find is Heid's hotdog place. If you could direct me from there, I think I could find it. Thank you. Carol Bain
Carol, According to the NYGenWeb page for Onondaga County: "Salina, North Tulip St., 4 mi. from Johnson Park - bound by Tulip, Sixth, Alder, Fifth Strs. Active Incorp. Cemetery, TF: 1810 Contact: Liverpool Cem. Assn. No. Tulip St. Liverpool, NY 13088" Heid's is at the junction of Onondaga Lake Parkway, Old Liverpool Road, and a few other streets if I recall correctly. From Heid's, you would go west on what may or may not still be called Old Liverpool Road there. I think you would see Tulip St. going off to your right before you get to Rt. 57, but I'm not positive, as I haven't lived in Liverpool since early 1986. There is an online listing of burials for this cemetery, and it includes CHILLINGWORTH, MILLER, and a few MEYER: <http://www.rootsweb.com/%7Enyononda/CEMETERY/liverpoolvillage.html> -- Mary Taffet Syracuse, NY [email protected] Carol Bain wrote: > > Can anyone please tell me the location of the Liverpool Cemetery? That would put the Liverpool [village] Cemetery in the town of Clay. Two points: 1) The village cemetery is indeed bounded by Tulip, Sixth, Alder and fifth Streets. It is, however, less than 1/2 mile from Johnson park. 2) There is a cemetery at the corner of Route-31 and Henry Clay Blvd (IPine Grove Cemetery) that also has numerous Liverpudlians buried. It is NOT, however, the Liverpool Cemetery in question!
