    3. It was an ice cream parlour. There were several around the Syracuse area up though the 60s and 70s. There was another one on Erie Blvd & Walnut Ave that became the original "Poor House" in the latter half of the 60s. This was a bar down the hill from Syracuse University. For years you could still see the old rusting Whittigs sign covered with weeds leaning against the sign post in the corner of the parking lot. Even that is all gone now. It was turned into a park of some kind if I remember correctly.
