Good Morning Pam The Public Library in downtown Syracuse located in the "Galleries" is the main Library for Onondaga County NY and they have a wonderful Genealogy or "Special Collections" Dept. This covers the entire County. They also have microfilm of the old Newspapers for Onondaga County "Herald Journal" and "Post Standard". This would be where you would locate an Obit. You could write to the "Special Collections" Dept. for Information. Or perhaps you could enclose the Name of your Ancestor and location in the Email on the Mailing List and see if someone would look this up for you. I would suggest that anyhow. Remember the Village or Town would not have the death record if they died elsewhere in the County. The Hospitals for Onondaga County are located in the City of Syracuse and Community Hospital is located in the Town of Onondaga (which is the closest to Skaneateles) and a death record would then be located at the Onondaga Town Clerks Office. http://www.ocpl.lib.ny.us/ Good Luck Pat R
