I am looking for Burns in Syracuse too. Here are the first generation in this country. I believe they were in Boston for a while before coming to Syracuse. In 1880 they were on Bear St in Syracuse. James Burns b. 1817 in Ireland wife Catherine Broderick Children: Patrick m. Bridget James C b. 1842 d. 1935 m. Margaret Ford (my grgrandparents) Thomas m Ellen Mary m. William O'Brien Luke m. Mary Catherine m. William Higgins I think they had a daughter named Dora James C and Margaret lived in Cazenovia at one time. After Margaret died having their 10th child he raised his children in a house by the railroad tunnel in Cazenovia where he was the watchman. Will post more about their children Jim in Vermont
