Hi The Records at the Syracuse Parks Dept should be able to give you a date or Approx date that the City took over the land. A letter to them might be a good place to start. Old City Directories would no doubt give the Address up to the point is was no longer there. The Special Collections Room at the Galleries Library has these directories. Also a trip to check the Tax Records and/or Land Records for the City of Syracuse would also show when 1000 Cumberland Ave was torn down or sold to the City (I would assume since it is a City Park). If your Ancestor lived there until his death in the 1920's that would be the date to start your search and since someone knows it was a Park in the 1980's it would of been sometime in between. Another source might be the Newspaper Archives that would make mention of a new Park being developed. It the Owner who died in 1920's left a Will that might also indicate who was left the property after his death. Several Sources to check.
