I'm searching for infomation about Thomas Babcock, and his connection to Lydia (Rice/Royce) Owen. Lydia was the widow of Daniel Owen who d. in Spafford in 1826. On the 1840 pensioner's census she is listed living with Thomas Babcock. She is 81 yrs old. She was from the Ashford, CT area as was her husband Daniel Owen. There are several daughters whose marriages are unknown. Could one of them have married Thomas Babcock? The known, but unidentified daus. are: Saby b. 1784; Sybil b. 1789; and Sarah/Sally b. 1800 who is known to be married by 1843 to William Eldridge, but nothing is known before 1843. The other known and identified children are: Daniel b. 1780; Timothy b. 1781; Jonathan Rice Owen b. 1796, m. Hannah Whaley; and Chloe b. abt. 1785, m. Elijah Hall.
