    3. Hi, listees, My 4x greatgrandparents, John and Betsey Barse, lived in the Town of Manlius in the 1820s. I am looking for the maiden name of the wife of my 4x greatgrandfather John Barse (b. Feb 1793, bpt. Johannes Bersch in Stone Arabia, Montgomery Co.). She went by the name of BETSEY BARSE and was supposedly born in Vermont. >From her death date, 20 Apr 1861, at 73 yrs and 15 days, I calculate her birth date to be 5 Apr 1788. She died in Olean, Cattaraugus County. They would have married some time before April 1814. I received some deeds today from the Onondaga County Clerk's Office that I hoped would contain Betsey's maiden name, but sadly, no. John and Betsey Barse owned a part of lot 45, out of the original town parcel, in 1827. Does anyone have information? Cheers, Allrelated -- "As is the generation of leaves, so is that of humanity. The wind scatters the leaves on the ground, but the live timber burgeons with leaves again in the season of spring returning. So one generation of men will grow while another dies." Iliad, VI.146-150, trans. Lattimore. So, tell me again, why the heck am I raking up all these leaves?
