I have a city dir for Syracuse for 1952- there was a Jackson st. Beginning with house numbers 101-327 appeared to be regular residential homes, then with numbers 402-621 was the 'Syracuse Housing Projects'. In 1952, folks living at 112 Jackson St was Albert Grant, Robt S Hill, Ralph L Corson,, Mrs Marjorie Harriger and Edward Harriger families. There was a Frank R and Laura ROWE listed in the directory- occupation was newspaper salesman, home was 311 E Genesee. In my mothers wedding announcement it reports that she and my father were going to stay with his parents at 112 Jackson St Syracuse - Mom said the parents Frank and Laura Rowe lived in Marcellus not Syracuse and they lived on a country road not a street. Funny thing, I "might" have known them. My grandparents lived at 139 Lincoln Ave. and I used to visit a lot of the neighbors. I don't think there was a Jackson St. in Marcellus, but you might check one of the Syracuse Suburban directories for about that time period. Don't know if it goes out as far as Marcellus or not. There is now a Jackson St. in Syracuse, but it is a tiny little thingtucked in under Route 81, down behind Crouse Irving Hospital, only a couple blocks long, and don't know if it existed before urban renewal. Check with Local History / Genealogy at OCPL, or even call the library in Marcellus. They should know. I greatly appreciate the responses.... Truly. Does anyone have a 1949 city directory with which they can look up Frank and Laura Rowe for me? Question: how do you feel abt snipping or removing previous responses from the current response? The issue is - how many times do responses need to be stored on the internet in perpetuity? I feel I should snip them when responding esp. if they are not related to the 'question'. But I am not certain. -----Original Message----- From: Diane Sweeney Groman [mailto:mayogirl14@hotmail.com] April 02, 2007 4:12 PM To: nyononda@rootsweb.com Subject: Jackson St 1952 have a city dir for Syr for 1952- there was a Jackson st.
