To Connie, Rick et al Back in the early 1990s there was an interesting, well written history of Solvay, which included Solvay Process. I remember it was a trade paperback and an easy read. Not sure where my copy is but I do remember it was written by a very nice young lady whose family came from there. I do not know if or where it might still be available, but I would start with the Solvay library. A quick Google search showed the exact title to be Smokestacks Allegro: The Story of Solvay, a Remarkable Industrial/Immigrant Village 1880-1920 and the author to be a Rita M. Cominolli (Now an M.D.) who has apparently gone on to have quite a stellar career. IF anyone is interested, my search indicated she might be reached through the following web page: http://www.cgwebdesigngroup.com/CGAboutUs.shtm Hope this helps someone, Jim Eagan >
