Michelle, Pat, and Rick: Thank you all for the information and descriptions! Your reminiscences and walks down memory lane helped me imagine my grandmother as a young girl enjoying many of the same things you all did (and still do!) My mother said my grandmother never really talked about her childhood - not because it was bad, but because my mother and her siblings never thought to ask. I guess they felt it was too intrusive.
