Hi Shannon Sorry for the delay in my reply, but I am working the "The Moving Wall" at Clayton this week and its is a "big five days". The Moving Wall is a Memorial in honor of the men and women of the armed forces of the US who served in the Vietnam War. It was brought here by the Clayton Am. Legion for the June 20-25. Clayton is just down the road (on the St Lawrence) from Cape Vincent where I live. But at the Cape we love to mention we are the only spot where we have both the St Lawrence River and Lake Ontario. The spot where the River and the Lake meet. Yes, People do "Swim" in Lake Ontario. They have been swimming here for years. I have not been in the water yet this year as usually the 4th of July is when it warms up enough for me. People have summer cottages (camps as they are called today) and summer homes (perhaps someone in your Ancestry had a summer cottage). I have a picture of my "First Dip" in Lake Ontario at Sackets Harbor New York (where we lived year round at that time) when I was 5 months old. Of course my mother was holding me and the picture is a brown colored black and white version. It was many years ago. Not all the people are Fisherman (but many are) and my brother and I had our own Fishing Poles from the time we were 4 years old or less. Fishing was a big part of our family recreation. So many learned to fish very young I am not sure where you live but mail me direct and I could mail you some scene's of the area. Pat R
